Dr. Katie Ryan
She grew up in Ancaster, Ontario. She attended the University of Waterloo and graduated on the Deanβs Honours List for both her Bachelor of Science (Honours Biomedical Science) and Doctor of Optometry degrees. Her ocular disease externship was in a tertiary care centre that focused on the management of glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disease (such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration).
She currently lives in Paris with her husband, Robert. They enjoy running half marathons and hiking together. She also loves Muay Thai training with Dr. Kapadia.
Dr. Ryan takes part in Norfolk County community education events such as the annual Wellness Fair, Women in Business, and presentations for the Haldimand Norfolk Diabetes Program and Multiple Sclerosis Society. She sees patients of all ages: from infants to seniors. She is passionate about children's vision. She goes to Sprucedale Youth Centre to provide eye examinations every 3 months. She also went to Northern Ontario for 6 days with Dr. Kapadia to perform eye examinations though the Indigenous Children's Eye Examination (ICEE) Project in 3 remote communities. She truly enjoys improving the vision of the people of Norfolk County through personalized treatments such as new prescription glasses, cutting edge contact lenses, laser eye surgery referrals, or ocular disease management.
She focuses on maintaining healthy eyes and preventing eye disease. She is currently accepting new patients in all 3 locations.
